Mozart always described the clarinet as the instrument that came closest to the purity and sound perfection of the human voice and always regretted in his correspondence with his father, not being able to use it in his operas until the meeting with Stadler, in whose art the young composer could in fact become aware of the vast expressive potential of the instrument.
